Insurance and protection during your house move
We carry Goods in Transit insurance and Public Liability insurance. They cover different types of risk, so it is more useful to explain the cover than simply describe the service as fully insured.
Goods in Transit insurance is the cover relevant to household belongings while they are in our care for transport, subject to the terms, conditions and exclusions of the policy. Our packing service also states that items professionally packed by our team are covered under our transit insurance.
Public Liability insurance is separate cover relating to third party injury or property damage arising from our work, again subject to the applicable policy terms.
If you believe an item has been damaged while in our care, contact us promptly and keep photographs and other relevant evidence. Any claim is considered under the applicable insurance terms and exclusions. If you have particularly valuable or unusual items, identify them during the survey so their requirements can be checked before the move.
Before moving day
Tell us about unusually valuable items.
Point out existing damage before items are moved.
Ask about anything you are unsure is covered.
Keep photographs of valuable or fragile items where useful.
Tell us if you are packing items yourself or using our packing service.
